The Steering Committee is an organization that oversees and deliberates the projects, operation, activities, budget and so on of JAHIS, and serves as its interface with the outside. Specifically, it carries out the following operations.
 
    1. Discussion of matters pertaining to the administration of JAHIS
    2. Overall coordination of subcommittee activities
    3. Reporting to the Governing Board
    4. Research and planning for formulation of the overall strategy of JAHIS, and coordination of subcommittee activities
    5. Undertaking operations contracted to JAHIS
