- Realize a data eco cycle society with good health and peace of mind -

Since 1994, Japanese Association of Healthcare Information Systems (JAHIS), has been contributing to the development of healthcare and welfare information systems, and to maintaining and improving the health and well-being of peoples' lives by promoting standardization, enhancing technology, and ensuring the quality and safety of systems.
Japan faces a super-aging society compared to the rest of the world. The time has come to face various issues in order to realize a "society where people can live healthily and with peace of mind" even when they are older. In particular, JAHIS is concentrating on the issues and the "environment surrounding health, medical care, and welfare". We must address issues such as the declining birthrate and aging population, the declining population (especially the productive population), the securing of limited medical expenses and the sustainability of the social security system, and changes in the disease structure, including new infectious diseases.
Looking at the government action in Japan, the Digital Agency, which was established in October 2021, declares the importance of "providing health, medical care, and welfare services that suit each individual's situation" in the " the Digital Society Vision". In addition, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has been strongly promoting "Data Health Reform", and various measures such as online qualification confirmation and implementation of electronic prescriptions.
JAHIS has set a "2030 Vision" with the concept of "Realizing a data eco cycle society", in which health, medical and welfare information systems support a healthy and prosperous life in Japan. With this vision, JAHIS will create "A society where everyone can live in good health and peace of mind" by utilizing the health, medical and nursing data from citizens who are the data providers enjoying the benefits. We are in an era where contributions to society are strongly required in our industry as well, and JAHIS needs to continue to follow the changes in the world and flexibly adapt to solve social issues and further develop the industry. JAHIS will continue to cooperate with related organizations such as ministries and academic societies and promote activities toward its realization.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
